Confide in your own wiki

It might be hard to believe that once upon a time you were more of a genius than your are today... Until you try to repeat your own success with failure.

In the world of programming, their are so many ways to do the same task... Some easy and some challenging. Some even far beyond our own comprehension!

I've pushed myself so hard recently to try to make a game within the next 6 months for a premium platform without knowing what I will make with not much direction... The flow I go with is what I have. I can make a game if I have the tools and assets to put it together. But I can't make a game if I do nothing.

Coming back to making universal assets, reflection came up and let me be honest... I have completely forgot what I learned! But the work I made I knew I had but I did not know where it was until I went looking for something... And recalled sharing what I was working on. That work from long ago found. And it just goes to show it does not take much to forget what you learned and how to do something.

With this code, I can refine it and relearn how to code so functionality certain ways... To which then the universal assets can be born.

The game I made and released in 2019 was not one of scale and magnitude or amazement. It was one of fulfilling a goal... And what goal was achieved exists in history. The little details and the learning experiences with issues here and their that were extremely time consuming... Exist in the code... But undocumented so the clarity to go back myself and do it only exists in the work.

The game I worked hard on in 2018 never released. It took ages to figure out and the study was hard for varying reasons and degrees. I overloaded myself and time was taken away being a games developer. The little lessons along the way with the controllers and commands. The details to fine and important that could be reused can't be written as they are in the past and not the present. I'm interested in making a living Wiki for my own code experience's to not only share and show my experience... But to invest in the idea of documenting our valuable lessons. Showing a better way we have done something and being able to navigate cleanly to topics related to the situation we find ourselves in. I don't know how to make a wiki, but if I start one within my Website, my portfolio can dynamically grow while being a book in my back pocket for my own use while being a front for the experience I've had up my sleeve. Thank you and make 2021 your year! #2021 #Programming #Wiki
